Biblical Christianity – On a Positive Note
There is a lot of gloom and doom in American Christian circles resulting from the continuing deterioration of a Biblical Christian worldview. However, RealClear Opinion Research just released the results of a survey (details here) that suggests that the famous Time magazine phrase “God is Dead” may have been premature.
There is much that could be said about the data presented above. However, the numbers speak for themselves. We remain a country of believers in the supernatural regardless of how hard the minority view is pushed upon us. However, as much as we express a belief in God, Americans continue to reject the church as His foundation for our fellowship, teaching, and accountability. We may, as a nation, continue to pay lip service to our historical Christian beliefs, however, without sound teaching and the bringing up of our children in a Biblical Christian environment, we are in peril of merely stating our faith in God without having any idea what that truly means.
